Why do I keep reading about Rice being future England captain, only from WHU fans of course, but what it is based on, finger pointing? He's not even a good club captain let alone leading the country. Kane will be captain for a couple more years then most likely Bellingham or someone else.

I honestly can't see why people are on his back he's a future England captain and he wants to win some trophies.
We're not a top draw side so tell me why he should stay as its not going to get better is it?

Re: Is Rice behaving the same way as Ince
Rice is still with us and he’s 24. None of the following hung around at WHU until they were that age. I give you Rio, FLS, Joe Cole, Carrick and Defoe.

Let’s cut Declan some slack here.

How is Rice touting himself about? He was asked at the world cup if he would like to play in the Champions League. He said of course he would. Did you expect him to say no?

The next day all the press pounced on that with headlines like 'Rice wants to play for a top 4 side'
Since that question I haven't seen or read anything else from him talking about his future. He can't stop all the speculation every day in every media outlet.

He has been great for us but now he deserves to play for a very top club.

Yes.

They both have added one letter to the word ICE to get their surnames.

Uncannily similar

Knoblerone sees himself as a modern version of 1960s The Saint what with working across exotic Europe in places that BEA used to fly to.

Now, get a flight on a route BOAC used to serve and that's real high-roller stuff: " "Hello, my name is Swiss - James Swiss".

Re: Is Rice behaving the same way as Ince
i dont see that in attitude.
He is the clubs biggest asset and a top quality proven England international, who might just want to win something..We havent won anything for nearly 45 yrs. If he goes good luck to him. I would put it down down to not kicking on from the last 2 seasons - where do you park that?

the manager is the issue, not rice or the squad

I feel we should just cash on him this window and get as much as we can for him, rather than a discounted amount in the summer. We are in a shit position as it is with him in the side, so it isn't going to get much worse really, especially if the objective is just to stay up. Surely we can still do that with him out of the side?

Mike, you seem to have a very high opinion of what you used to do as a job. Unfortunately for you, no one gives a fuck, it was just a job no one will ever hear about outside of WHO, and no one on WHO gives a fuck.

Trying to pretend being a professional footballer is 'just a job' smacks of people who think they they are important, and they do/done something important. You didn't, sadly.

The surprising thing would be if anything I did do ever reached the papers - there would be some very unhappy people about.

Still, you jog on - you seem to be having a whale of a time here.

Yeah, that move you made in 2003, Mike.

Obviously I'm a huge fan of yours, so I remember it. I used to cheer you on from the fax machine, chant your name.

Quite why that move never made the papers is a mystery.

Re: Is Rice behaving the same way as Ince
I would say there were huge disappointments after the failure to win the European Cup last season and the drop in form that went with it. That and the changes have created a very different mood in the team. Hopefully its getting back but Rice is definitely thinking of his future. It would be crazy for a professional not to be.

£30 per hour?

Haven't had a rate that low since about 2003.

Are you another one of these posters stuck in the comfort blanket of the past?

Re: Is Rice behaving the same way as Ince
Why wasn't there this much fuss made when Mike Oxsaw transferred from one dull Adminstrative company to another, to perform his dull as dishwater job, for £30 per hour?

I'm not quite sure how it never made the national news.
